INJECTION PATCH - SPL0676
The injection patch SPL0676 allows the input to process measurement equipment to be diverted from the input device to test equipment for routine maintenance. The injection patch is available in two different case sizes each with 4-20mA or 1-5V test output.
- With the switch in the NORMAL position the 4-20mA input on terminals (1, 3) flows through to the output terminals (2, 4) and ultimately to the input of the main plant equipment. This is the normal operating position.
- With the switch in the INJECT position a 4-20mA signal is injected through the top mounted INJECTION sockets. This signal will flow through to the output terminals (2, 4) and ultimately to the input of the plant equipment under test. The normal 4-20mA input (1, 3) is terminated by a 100 ohm resistor. This is the maintenance mode of operation.
The output of the injection patch can be monitored on the top mounted TEST sockets. The output test sockets are operational in both inject and normal modes. The 4-20mA output is available in two signal types;
- Types A and D has 4-20mA on the test output sockets. This is measured with a digital multimeter on a current measurement range.
- Types B and C have a 1-5V signal representing 4-20mA on the test output sockets. This is measured with a digital multimeter on a voltage measurement range.
