Description
The Alarm 2000 is designed for small residential occupancies requiring a smoke alarm system as set out in the Building Code of Australia, but also integrates the early warning with other building services. The system employs the design principles of AS1670 but utilises the cost effectiveness of smoke alarms, with their combination of detection and warning sounder. The basic Alarm 2000 system can be customised and expanded to suit individual applications by the use of optional add-on modules.
Features
The basic Alarm 2000 system consists of control and indicating equipment (residential fire panel) interfaced to the Brooks TL series 240Volt smoke and heat alarms. The RFP provides the necessary controls, indicators, supervision, power and standby supplies, termination and distribution point for the system.
The smoke / heat alarms provide an automatic detection of fire and activation of the system. The system however can be manually activated via a suitable manual call point or panic switch.
The primary occupant warning is the smoke alarm sounders but additional outputs are provided for supplementary warning device. The system supports specific warning devices for the hearing impaired providing both visual and tactile responses.
Optional modules allow the system to be customised to suit individual applications. Circuits are either supervised or fail safe to ensure operational integrity. The smoke/heat alarm module provides the basis upon which the system is built. The Smoke Alarm Module interfaces BROOKS 240 volt Lithium Smoke/Heat Alarms and provides for the manual activation of the system.
